How do I blur a face in a photo?

Add the picture, choose Blur, pick the brush or rectangle and mark the face. The preview updates as you draw. Raise the strength until the face is no longer recognizable, then download the image.

Is a blurred face really anonymous?

A strong blur or large pixels removes identifying detail, but a light blur can sometimes be partly reversed or recognized by people who know the person. Use a high strength for anything sensitive and check the result at full size.

Does the tool detect faces automatically?

Not yet. You mark each face yourself with the brush or a rectangle, which keeps everything fast and private. The Select the background automatically button can hide everything except the main subject.

Can the original face be recovered from the downloaded file?

No. The blurred pixels replace the original ones in the file you download, and the tool never uploads the image or keeps an edit history inside the file.
