How do I pixelate only part of an image?

Select Pixelate, then draw with the brush or drag a rectangle over the part you want. Only the marked area becomes blocks and the rest of the photo stays sharp.

How do I pixelate the whole image?

Drag a rectangle over the entire picture, or paint across it with a large brush. Raising the Strength slider makes the blocks bigger.

What is the difference between pixelate and blur?

Pixelate replaces each block with a single flat color, which gives a clear mosaic look. Blur smooths detail into a soft haze. Pixelating with large blocks is generally the stronger way to hide small text.

Does pixelating reduce the image size or resolution?

No. The photo keeps its original pixel dimensions. Only the marked area looks blocky because its detail has been averaged into larger squares.
