Drop in a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG. A square image of 512 px or more gives the sharpest icons.

2️⃣

Choose how it is squared

Crop the image to fill the square, or fit the whole image with transparent padding. Pick the background used for the Apple touch icon.

3️⃣

Download the icons

Get 16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512 px PNGs plus a multi-size favicon.ico in one ZIP, and copy the ready-made link tags into your site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which favicon sizes do I need?

A favicon.ico with 16, 32 and 48 px images covers browser tabs and bookmarks, a 180 px Apple touch icon covers iPhone and iPad home screens, and 192 and 512 px PNGs cover Android and web app manifests. This tool creates all of them.

How do I add the favicon to my website?

Upload the files to the root folder of your site and paste the generated link tags inside the head of your pages. Browsers also look for /favicon.ico on their own.

What size should my source image be?

Use a square image of at least 512 by 512 pixels. Simple logos with bold shapes stay readable when shrunk to 16 pixels; fine detail and thin text do not.

Why does my favicon still show the old icon?

Browsers cache favicons aggressively. Clear the cache, try a private window, or add a version to the file name such as /favicon.ico?v=2.

Why does the Apple touch icon have a solid background?

iOS fills transparent areas of the home screen icon with black. The tool paints the background color you pick behind the 180 px icon so it looks as intended.
